Somerville House is a leading Queensland school, “…educating girls to be fearless leaders of change, developing excellence, confidence and connection to their individual purpose.”

To this end, refurbishment of Level 5 of the existing Seymour Library was commissioned and the building was extended with the addition of two Mezzanine levels, increasing the Library’s space. The architectural and engineering design team was commissioned to create and document a feature lighting element, made up of suspended linear extrusion light fittings arranged in customised mitred geometry to enhance the collaborative and learning spaces. DARKON and its QLD Agents, Light and Design Group, were proud to collaborate with Wood & Grieve and assist with delivery of solutions.

Vertically and horizontally recessed linear extrusion fittings were also used to highlight timber finishes, and suspended glass pendants chosen to warm learning environments.
