HIP IP67 SM

HIP IP SM is a heavy-duty surface-mounted architectural lighting system engineered for demanding environments where water protection, impact resistance and long-term reliability are critical. Built around the same proportions as the standard HIP family, it allows designers to maintain a consistent architectural language as a project transitions between interior, exterior and high-demand areas. At the heart of HIP IP SM is a complex co-moulded tubular lens incorporating external screw flutes, allowing the end caps to be mechanically secured without the fixing screws penetrating the sealed optical chamber. Heavy-duty injection-moulded end caps incorporate co-moulded gaskets and are designed to glow with the tubular lens, creating visual continuity along individual fittings and continuous system runs. The underside of the tubular lens remains optically clear, allowing specifiers to select DARKON's familiar opal, deglaring, asymmetric or proprietary narrow lens options, providing exceptional optical flexibility within an IP-rated luminaire. A one-way vent valve allows internal moisture to escape during significant temperature changes while resisting moisture entry. A dedicated cavity behind the surface-mounted body accommodates DARKON's plug-and-play through-wiring system, supplied via a proprietary IP-rated junction box. This allows system runs to remain factory sealed regardless of overall length, minimising site work that could compromise the IP67 integrity of the luminaire. DARKON's patented Self Lok Lap Join further improves continuous installations by minimising light bleed between adjoining modules. The substantial tubular lens and robust construction achieve IK10 impact resistance, making HIP IP SM ideally suited to rail infrastructure, airports, pedestrian walkways, tunnels, lift lobbies and covered external environments. The result is a highly engineered IP67 and IK10 surface-mounted lighting system that combines exceptional durability, selectable optics and installation efficiency with the refined architectural language of the broader HIP family.
