Privacy Policy
This policy is a working draft prepared from what the website actually does. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be before it is relied on.
DARKON Architectural Lighting, 33 Broadfield Road, Broadmeadows VIC 3047, is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what this website collects, why, and who else it reaches.
What you give us
The enquiry forms on our product, project, sector and fabrication pages collect your name, email address, company, phone number and message. Where the enquiry is made from a product or project page, the page it came from is recorded with it, so we know what you are asking about. The newsletter form collects your email address only. Both are delivered to us by email and are not added to any marketing list automatically.
If you use the assistant on this site, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Do not enter anything confidential into it.
A specification list you build using "Add to Spec" is held in your own browser and is not sent to us unless you submit it.
What is collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, and Microsoft Clarity to record how pages are used, which includes mouse movement, clicks and scrolling. Clarity masks text entered into form fields. Both are loaded through Google Tag Manager. Neither is used to identify you personally, and we do not sell or share this data for advertising.
The contact page loads a map from Google, which Google may use to set cookies.
Who else receives it
To run this site we use service providers who may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States:
- Google, for Analytics, Tag Manager and Maps
- Microsoft, for Clarity session recording
- Resend, to deliver enquiry and newsletter emails to us
- Anthropic, for the assistant
- Vercel, which hosts the site, and Cloudflare, which serves images and documents
- Neon, which hosts our product database in Sydney
Cookies
Analytics and session recording set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete them in your browser settings; the site works without them.
Keeping and deleting
Enquiries are kept in our email and CRM for as long as we may need them to deal with your enquiry and to meet our record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is kept for the period set in Google Analytics.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask us for the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to product@darkon.com.au or call +61 3 9357 5044.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
