Manufacturing Facility

Everything Under One Roof
Located in Melbourne, our 4,665 m² purpose-built manufacturing facility leverages Advanced Manufacturing 4.0 technology to create custom lighting solutions across design, construction, and fit-out markets.
We maintain complete control over every aspect of the production process through continuous investment in machinery and equipment. The facility is equipped with a sophisticated suite of CNC machinery, all managed entirely in-house.
This vertically integrated approach enables us to deliver bespoke architectural lighting products with industry-leading quality and turnaround times.

Hands On Manufacturing
At DARKON, we combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to create bespoke lighting solutions. Our skilled team brings decades of experience to every product, whether it’s a suspended luminaire, surface-mounted downlight, or a custom facade lighting system.
Every product is assembled, tested, and quality-checked by hand before it leaves our facility, ensuring the highest standards of fit and finish.

Modern Design Office
Our Melbourne-based in-house design team produces architectural fixtures, linear lighting, downlights, wall lights, and external façade lighting. From initial concept through to production-ready drawings, we handle every stage of the design process.
We generate comprehensive BIM and REVIT content for seamless integration into architectural projects, and our state-of-the-art goniophotometer provides precise photometry data for every product.

CNC Machining & Turning
In-house CNC milling, drilling, and lathe operations for tight-tolerance components, custom fittings, and production runs — all managed under direct quality control.
Our CNC suite includes: Haas Supermini Mill 2 for intricate machining, Haas DM-2 for high-speed operations, Haas ST30SSY lathe with live tooling, Emmegi Precision RS twin head up-cut saw, Emmegi Phantomatic M3 profile machining centre, Elumatec SBZ122 for detailed profile work, and a Haco EuroMaster-S30150 150-tonne CNC press brake.

High-Precision Laser Cutting
Our high-precision fibre laser cutting technology handles aluminium, steel, and selected plastics with exceptional accuracy and repeatability. Ideal for complex profiles, brackets, plates, and custom components.
We have transitioned to high-pressure air cutting for environmental efficiency, reducing our environmental footprint while maintaining the precision our clients expect from every component.

Laser Welding
Precision laser welding delivers clean joins with minimal heat distortion — ideal for architectural components, fine assemblies, and high-finish requirements.
Our laser welding process is not only faster and more efficient but also consumes less power compared to traditional techniques. Whether we’re crafting suspended luminaires or surface-mounted external downlights, our commitment to quality makes us a trusted name among architectural lighting manufacturers in Australia.

Powder Coating & Finishing
In-house batch powder coating with environmentally responsible pretreatment and closed-loop water systems, ensuring consistent finishes and fast turnaround.
Our powder coating facility delivers durable, high-quality finishes for external downlights, suspended solutions, and all architectural lighting products — with environmental responsibility built into every process.
