Located in Geelong’s cultural precinct, the Library and Heritage Centre houses seven premium event spaces, with a host of DARKON luminaires integrated in the phenomenal architectural design by ARM Architecture.

Collaboration between specialist lighting consultant, Electrolight, and ESD Consultant, Umow Lai on the lighting and electrical design, resulted in documentation of DALI dimmable, track mounted PORT C luminaires and a beautifully detailed, discrete integration of SLIM C linear profiles into the ‘bones’ of the building - which was awarded the below recognition and accolades by the Australian Institute of Architects, as well as being awarded the Sir Zelman Cowen Award for Public Architecture in 2016; - Australia’s most coveted national prize for Architecture.

William Wardell Award for Public Architecture / AIA (VIC Chapter)

Marion Mahony Award for Interior Architecture / AIA (VIC Chapter)

Victorian Architecture Medal 2015 / AIA (VIC Chapter)

“The phenomenal visitor numbers demonstrate to us that the project is meeting all of its objectives. It is creating a vibrant hub in the centre of Geelong, further enlivening the cultural precinct; acting as a significant tourist destination; and providing world-class library and heritage services to all visitors.”
