FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW 2024

Congratulations are in order once again for Christian Jenkins, who was awarded a Silver Show Garden Award at this year’s MIFGS judging. Darkon is proud to have partnered with Jenkins once again to support his 2024 Show Garden entry, Inner Journey, in collaboration with Margaret River Trees.

The garden design featured the striking boldness of towering Bottle Trees and other trees aged over 500 years. This contemporary landscape celebrated Australian Native Plants with limestone garden beds, decked boardwalks, and a large body of water setting the scene. “This year’s Show Garden continues my journey of creating Wellness Gardens, allowing the audience to experience a profound sensory journey of joy, calm, and tranquility. The large body of water creates a range of reflections that remind us of the mysterious wonders of nature,” Jenkins commented.

Darkon enhanced the design aesthetic with SLIM C SUS, used as a suspended linear uplight above the outdoor dining area, and SLIM C / NARROW with an optical lens accessory to provide a focused 9-degree wall wash effect across the textured limestone walls. The WYN RT SM, with its asymmetric distribution, was selected to illuminate the vertical green walling and all the ponds in the garden were illuminated just above their waterlines using IP68-rated flexible silicone, creating a dual-line effect due to the water’s reflective mirroring.
