TUBE SM brings DARKON's award-winning TUBE optical technology into a distinctive surface-mounted architectural form. Recognised with an (IES) award for its groundbreaking optical innovation, TUBE was the first linear LED luminaire capable of producing both downward and upward illumination from a single downward-facing row of LEDs. At the heart of the system is DARKON's proprietary dual-diffuser technology. A concealed internal diffuser captures and redirects a portion of the light output back towards the upper section of the luminaire, where it is distributed through the feature 69mm diameter lens. This unique optical arrangement delivers beautifully balanced direct and indirect illumination while maintaining a completely homogeneous, dot-free appearance along the entire length of the fitting. The defining feature of TUBE SM is its purpose-designed curved mounting box, which mirrors the geometry of the illuminated tube to create a seamless architectural form. Unlike conventional surface-mounted luminaires that require multiple fixing points, TUBE SM can be supplied in continuous lengths of up to 3 metres supported by a single centrally located mounting box. This creates a dramatic cantilevered effect at both ends of the luminaire, giving the fitting the appearance of floating effortlessly from the ceiling or wall surface. The mounting box incorporates integral control gear, eliminating the need for remote drivers and simplifying installation.
